Welcome from Justine

Thank you so much for joining the Justine for Johnston campaign. It’s wonderful to have you on board. I greatly appreciate your support for our work to change how politics happens in the Northern Territory, and to get me elected as an Independent to the Northern Territory Parliament.

My hope and intention is that your participation is enjoyable and positive, and that everyone involved feels valued and safe. Our team encourages open and respectful communication, equality, inclusion and fun.

This Volunteer Agreement outlines our mutual commitments and the standards of behaviour and expectations for campaign volunteers.

Agreement

You agree: That all duties are on a voluntary basis and you will not receive remuneration or payment for this work.

Justine and the campaign team value volunteers and will endeavour to provide you with:

• An orientation and any training necessary for the volunteer role.
• A safe and inclusive environment.
• Respect for your privacy, including keeping your private information confidential.

In return, as a volunteer for the Justine for Johnston campaign you agree to:

• Be welcoming and inclusive.
• Act with honesty and integrity.
• Treat everyone with respect and sensitivity.
• Be accountable for your own actions and speak up if you feel unsafe or concerned about anyone’s behaviour.
• Follow directions from the volunteer coordinator
• Fulfil your commitments or let the volunteer coordinator know as soon as possible if you can’t.
• Let the volunteer coordinator know if you feel pressured, overwhelmed, or uncomfortable with a task you have been asked to do.
• Keep campaign information confidential (see below for further information).
• Not speak publicly on behalf of the campaign unless you are authorised to do so. If in doubt, you will check with the volunteer coordinator.
• Not volunteer or work for any other candidate who is standing for a political party. If you volunteer or work for another independent candidate, or plan to do so, please discuss with the volunteer coordinator.

Please note volunteers undertake their volunteer activities at their own risk

Reimbursement

Volunteers will be reimbursed for reasonable out of pocket expenses.

If total spend is under $50 then the volunteer can make that purchase and provide receipt for reimbursement into a nominated account.

If total spend is $50 or over, prior approval is required by the volunteer coordinator or their nominee. Once this is given then the volunteer can make that purchase and provide receipt for reimbursement into a nominated account.

Confidentiality

In your role, you may be given access to confidential Information, such as the personal information of other volunteers and residents of the seat of Johnston, information about campaign strategy or other confidential information. You agree not to use or disclose such information for any purpose other than the proper discharge of your duties as a volunteer for the Justine for Johnston campaign.

Photo Consent

If you pose for a photo or video while carrying out your volunteer activities, you give us permission to use it for marketing and for promoting the Justine for Johnston campaign. This may include the use of your image in printed and digital marketing and on social media platforms.
