Campaign volunteer positions

Stall volunteer

About the role

You’ll be the face of the campaign, talking to passersby at our office on Rapid Creek market days (every Saturday and Sunday) or at other stall locations such as community events, supermarkets or local parks. Your job is to listen to people in the Johnston electorate about what matters to them, record their concerns and ideas, and share information about the campaign.

About you

You’ll need to enjoy talking to people, but even more importantly you’ll need to be a good listener!  You don’t have an answer to all their questions, or have a debate,  just offer a friendly face and listen to and acknowledge people’s views.

Door-knocking

About the role

This is the real front-line of the campaign. Alongside Justine and a small team, you’ll be hitting the streets of Johnston to knock on doors, talk to voters and listen to their concerns. You’ll write brief notes about the conversations you’ve had and record follow up actions.

About you

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done something like this before – we’ll provide training and you’ll always go out with at least one other person. As long as you’re friendly, good at listening, and physically able to go door-to-door, we can help with the rest.

Fundraising team member

About the role

We want to change NT politics and that takes money! We’re looking for a small team to work together to come up with fundraising strategies and put them into action.

About you

Ideally, you’ll have experience fundraising for an organisation. If you don’t have experience but have ideas and enthusiasm, we’d love to have you on the team.

Social media team member

About the role

Your job is to help raise Justine’s profile, and enable supporters to stay up-to-date with the campaign. You’ll be helping to create and implement a social media strategy, working with Justine to develop Facebook and Insta content, monitoring comments, and advising the campaign on all things social media.

About you

You’ll have experience managing social media accounts, ideally in a campaign or marketing context. You’ll know about digital advertising and how to use social media well ! Bonus points if you have experience in website content and SEO!

Graphic designer

About the role

We’re looking for a gun graphic designer to help out with the full range of campaign material: from creating flyers to photoshopping campaign images, designing corflutes and t-shirts to making signs for the office, or just making our admin documents look pretty.

About you

If you have experience doing any of the above, that’s great! If not, but you’ve got a good eye for design and would like to give it a go, please let us know.

Office administration

About the role

We need help with a range of tasks such as data entry, research and liaising with suppliers.

About you

You’ll be highly organised, with attention to detail

You might want to commit to a regular hour in the office, or just help out with ad hoc tasks.
