Highlights of 2025

Parliament is the people’s house and I’m committed to keeping you informed and making sure your voice is heard. These are the ways that together, we do politics differently.

  • Launched community consultation for a Future Generations Bill, putting long-term thinking, intergenerational equity, and accountability on the legislative agenda.
  • Established the Community Scrutiny Forum, creating a new mechanism for public input, and conducting two inquiries with reports and recommendations published.
  • Putting Voluntary Assisted Dying(VAD), back on the agenda, and now the legislation will come before the Parliament in 2026.
  • More than 80 mobile offices, meeting people where they are, listening to concerns, and resolving issues directly in the community.
  • Countless constituents helped, supporting individuals and families with casework, advocacy, and navigating government systems.
  • 78 amendments moved, working line by line to improve legislation and reduce unintended harm.
  • 4 dissenting reports written, documenting evidence-based concerns when legislation fell short of community expectations.
  • 41 school assemblies, engaging young people across Johnston in conversations about democracy, leadership, and civic responsibility.
  • 45 written questions, formally holding government to account by seeking detailed, on-the-record answers.
  • 12 motions tabled, raising community issues in parliament and pushing for transparency, process, and better outcomes.
  • 30 questions in parliament, using Question Time to publicly challenge decisions and amplify community concerns.
  • 60 hours of estimates, scrutinising government spending in detail to improve transparency and value for Territorians.
  • 6 community newsletters, keeping thousands of residents informed about parliamentary work, local issues, and opportunities to get involved.
