Territory Coordinator

The Territory Coordinator Bill has been tabled in Parliament, and the 'revised' version following the consultation process is more concerning than ever before.

The public have been given just 7 days to write a submission to the Scrutiny Committee to reiterate your concerns about the Territory Coordinator.

Scrutiny Committee

The Scrutiny Committee (which I sit on) is tasked with answering questions in relation to the Terms of Reference through the inquiry process - the best submissions will be ones that directly address one or more of the Terms of Reference directly.

The Terms of Reference for the scrutiny committee are:

The Committee is to inquire into and report on:
(i) whether the Assembly should pass the Bill;
(ii) whether the Assembly should amend the Bill;
(iii) whether the Bill has sufficient regard to the rights and liberties of individuals; and
(iv) whether the Bill has sufficient regard to the institution of Parliament.

Your submission doesn't have to be long - it can be a short, simple letter. It can even be the same submission you sent in the consultation stage.

2. Email the submission to [email protected].

SUBMISSIONS CLOSE ON WEDNESDAY 19 FEBRURARY 2025

Everyone's views are important and every submission counts! If you are concerned about the undemocratic powers or anything else about the Territory Coordinator, I strongly urge you to use this opportunity to write a submission and have your voice heard.

If you have any questions about the Territory Coordinator or this process, please contact us at [email protected]
