About Justine

Hi, I’m Justine Davis and I’m running as your Independent candidate for Johnston.

My home is in Johnston and I have lived, worked and raised my family here for more than 25 years. I’ve always been involved in the community: on my children’s school councils from transition to Year 12, running a fair trade stall with others at Rapid Creek markets for many years, and on boards of community organisations. I run my own small business here, working as a mediator. I walk my dog by the creek every day.

I love this place and I want better for all of us.

Our community is facing immense challenges and the major parties are offering no real solutions.

It feels urgent and I can’t sit back and wait for other people to fix it. That’s why I decided to run as your Independent candidate for Johnston.

Throughout my life, when I have seen something that is broken, or systems that are causing harm, I have stepped forward to help make change. I’ve done this in my work across the NT as a mediator and justice expert with families, communities, the police, government and business.

I spend my days bringing people together to solve complex problems and create solutions that provide lasting, positive outcomes for everyone. My work has shown me that change is possible, even in situations that seem impossible.

I want to live in a place where the people we elect make decisions that are in all of our interests, and informed by the best evidence we have.

I’m ready to bring my decades of experience to do politics differently, by listening to you, bringing integrity to Parliament, and creating a future together where we can all thrive. There is a better way to serve our vibrant and diverse community — one with community at its heart, not politics. As your independent member, I promise to listen to you and work with you to create the change we need.

Together we can hold the government to account. I hope you’ll join me.
